Mother of Harlots: Conclusion (for now)

The President we call Ulysses S. Grant was instrumental in the efforts to construct the idol on Liberty Island. He wrote letters to the wealthy of his day soliciting funds for the idol, and on his last final full day in office he signed a joint resolution of Congress that authorized the President to accept the statue when it was presented by France and to select a site for it. As previously stated, the formal site selection was made by William Tecumseh Sherman, Grant’s partner in Civil War butchery.

Grant’s birth name was Hiram Ulysses Grant. In the Bible, Hiram was the King of Tyre who sent architects, workmen, cedar wood, and gold to Solomon to build the First Temple in Jerusalem. In mythology, Ulysses was the Greek warrior who invented the Trojan Horse. He also is one of the few persons to have descended into Hell and then returned to the world of the living. This aspect of the mythology of Ulysses is commemorated by the fact that Grant is the only dead President who is entombed above ground and not buried (leading to the trick question, “Who is buried in Grant’s Tomb?” whose answer is “No one.”) The Trojan Horse aspect of his mythology is contained in the idol standing on that pedestal atop Fort Wood.

The Black Hills War with the Indians which started in the final years of Grant’s Presidency was, as previously stated, caused by violation of the Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868 and the subsequent gold rush into Indian Territory. The final act of that war was the Wounded Knee Massacre in 1890. One of the Army’s excuses for the massacre was that the so-called Ghost Dance Religion had been causing unrest among the Lakota Sioux. The thing I find most interesting about the Ghost Dance Religion is that it is a quirky but literal interpretation of the Book of Revelation. It is based upon the belief that God will destroy the wicked, repair the damage done to the earth by them, and resurrect the dead.

So what did the United States do when faced with peoples who actually believed what is written in the Bible? The US Army slaughtered them using rapid-fire light artillery Hotchkiss guns; men, women, and children all were indiscriminately killed. Not unlike what was done to the so-called Branch Davidians. In the case of the Lakota Sioux and their Ghost Dance, Americans were in the role of the “wicked” whom God would destroy, not unlike what the Branch Davidians believed.

Many of America's founders believed that the so-called American Indians were the Lost Tribes of Israel. Others believed that although they did not recognize the divine nature of Jesus, the Indians lived lives that were more in keeping with the teachings of Jesus than the lives lived by us so-called Christians.

All of which raises the question, “Who are the saints with whose blood the Mother of Harlots is drunk?” In my view, it’s the blood of people who love God and actually LIVE by Christian principles. That description fits many if not most indigenous peoples, in whose slaughter America has been both instrumental and zealous.

So, if you’re one of those people who listen to popular ministers like Joel Osteen and who think that everything is fine, keep on doing what you’re doing. As it is written, you have your reward.

But, if you’re like me and believe that it’s morally wrong to use food as a weapon; steal the resources of the world’s people and call it “free trade” or “Manifest Destiny”; kill unarmed women and children and call it “collateral damage”; and desecrate the Bible, the Koran, or the relics of other religions; then it’s time to take action. And the only action you can take that will make any difference at all is one or both of the following:

And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. (Matthew 5:30 KJV)

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. (Revelation 18:4 KJV)

You will have to decide for yourselves what these passages mean for you. As I said before, I am not a messiah, and I have no wish to be a false prophet.
