Letter from Senator Ted Cruz

United States Senate
Washington, DC 20510

Dear Saint Howard,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding Social Security reform. I especially appreciate your patience awaiting a response. It is an honor to represent Texas in the Senate and respond to your concerns.

For decades, Congress has spent Social Security Trust funds-investments of hard-working Americans that should be protected-putting this program on an increasingly unsustainable path. I believe it is time to modernize Social Security by providing Americans real ownership of the money they pay into the system, while protecting the benefits of current retirees and those very close to retirement.

If younger Americans were allowed to save a portion of their current contributions, they could earn higher rates of return and guarantee their retirement benefits. In addition, workers could pass on unused benefits to their children and grandchildren so that they may attend college, purchase a home, or start a business of their own. Social Security must be reformed if it is to become a sound system for the 55 million Americans who receive benefits today or be preserved for future generations.

Thank you for sharing your views with me. Please feel free to contact me in the future about any issue important to your family. It is an honor to serve you and the people of Texas.

For Liberty,

Senator Ted Cruz

This guy doesn't get it, either. His statements about workers saving for themselves and earning higher rates of return is horseshit. Social Security would not be "failing" if Congress would pay back the stolen Trust Fund (at least he admitted that) and if the earnings cap was removed. Instead of the Federal (sic) Reserve Bank pumping money into the Treasury Bond Market via QE3, they should pump $2.5 trillion into the Trust Fund. But they won't.

As I suspected when I got a similar letter from Senator Cornyn, the Republicans are going to trash SS. And we can expect Obama ad-Dajjal, the Wall Street sock puppet, to go along with them.

Shame on all of them.

If the American people want a revolution, this would be the time. Once the post-collapse police state is finally set up, it will be too late.
