Aid vs. Intervention

The US is swift and thorough when it comes to "humanitarian intervention" (a.k.a. bombing the bejesus out of a country), but pitifully slow when it comes to "humanitarian aid" (a.k.a. actually helping a country):

Both efforts seem to require aircraft carriers to accomplish, but clearly we are much better at destruction than we are at salvation.
