A member of the Israeli Knesset suggests that G-d smote Ariel Sharon when he (Sharon) started to withdraw from the West Bank:

Since she brought it up, I would like to twist this in another direction.
Is it not strange that both PM Rabin (who supported the Oslo Accords) and PM Sharon (who apparently also finally was signalling a willingness to trade land for peace) were struck down; Rabin by an assassin's bullets, and Sharon by a stroke?
Is it possible to induce a stroke? If it is, I'll bet there are people in the "Institute for Intelligence and Special Operations" who know how to do it. Perhaps man, and NOT G-d, smote Ariel Sharon.
But make no mistake, the Israelis firmly believe that G-d is on their side. If they have to start World War Three to do G-d's will, they won't hesitate. And they will not let even their own leaders get in the way.
