Police are authorized to kill you

Please read this article about police officers in California who killed a homeless man, and who were then acquitted when brought to trial:

Apparently, the homeless man was killed for the heinous crimes of "jiggling the handles of car doors" and "refusing to heed police orders". The police then escalated the violence of their response to his resistance, and ultimately killed him.

I don't know about you, but I don't want anyone to mess with my car. On the other hand, I don't want police killing anyone just for that.

Do you?

"These peace officers were doing their jobs," [their attorney] said. "They were operating as they were trained, and they had no malice in their hearts."

Holy cow! Just imagine what they might have done if they had not followed their training or had had malice in their hearts.

Do you maybe see a connection with my previous post?
