Is USA The 666 Beast Of Revelation ???

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
Revelation 13:16-18 KJV

Perhaps no number has caught the imagination of more people than the number 666. But is 666 actually the number of the beast?

Some Bible manuscripts say that the number of the beast is 616 instead of 666. Here is a fragment of the earliest such manuscript yet found. The 616 comes from the three letters which look like "XIC" at the end of the third line:

Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of letters in the signatures of all the persons (including the names of the States) who signed the original Constitution for the United States of America. The country they formed is named after a man, Amerigo Vespucci, and the number of letters in their names as signed on the document is 616:

You can verify this for yourself by examining the original document at these links:

Charles Thomson was the only secretary of the Continental Congress (1774–1789) throughout its existence. Along with John Hancock, he was one of the two people who signed the original Declaration of Independence. He was the person who designed the final version of the Great Seal of the United States. He was one of the few persons present during all the official deliberations which resulted in the formation of our government.

When he retired he was asked to write a history of the American Revolution. He declined and is said to have remarked:

"No, for I should contradict all the histories of the great events of the Revolution, and show by my account of men, motives and measures, that we are wholly indebted to the agency of providence for its successful issue. Let the world admire the supposed wisdom and valor of our great men. Perhaps they may adopt the qualities that have been ascribed to them, and thus good may be done.

"I shall not undeceive future generations."

Is the United States of America the last best hope of earth, or is it the 616/666 beast of revelation?

We'll soon find out.
