US Is The New USSR

Not long ago we were treated to photo essays documenting the collapse of the former Soviet Union, and although we may have felt sorry for our former enemies we ourselves were happy to live in America. Here are some examples:

But recently there have been similar photo essays documenting the abandonment of structures and entire neighborhoods in the US, and now we don't feel so blessed:

Duh ... the same process was responsible for the collapse of both nations, and there will be many more such abandonments before the process is complete. The "Cold War" may have been about destroying them, but the "Global War On Terror" is about destroying us. Take note that we willingly accepted the yoke both times.
