Iraq has been targeted by western powers since the “republic” under the late Abd al-Karim Qasim enacted law No. 80 of 1961, which deprived foreign companies of the right to explore in 99.5% of the Iraqi territory, but mainly since the Baath regime led by the late Saddam Hussein decided to nationalize the hydrocarbon industry on June 1, 1972.

When reading this I got the definite impression that most if not all of our wars result from the desire of corporations to plunder the wealth of sovereign nations.
Q: Why then are these corporations not stripped of their powers by the nations that granted their charters?
A: Because the elected and appointed officials of those nations are in on the scam. Most of them would throw their own mothers under the bus for a few more dollars.
And ultimately those corporations now represent a higher power than the nations themselves. There is no democracy; the wealthy rule the world.
