Israeli Reservists Refuse Gaza Massacre

A few Israeli reservists have refused to serve in the Gaza massacre, perhaps 50 or more:

This is admirable, but their low numbers will not really make a difference.

Here is the real issue their refusal brings up:

Many people believe the lie that G-d wants the Israelis to chastise (or even kill) the Palestinians so the Jews can have their land. Other excuses have been given for this "war" (e.g., tunnels and rockets), but it all boils down to Israel's Biblical claim to this land.

If that's the case, ask yourself these two questions:

  • Is G-d punishing reservists who refuse to take part in the massacre?
  • Is G-d rewarding those who do take part?

In the answer to both these questions (which is "no"), you also have the answer to the legitimacy of this so-called "war".

Israelis don't think much of Jesus (He apparently is still a heretic as far as they are concerned), but He hit the nail on the head 2000 years ago:

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Matthew 5:43-45 KJV
