We Are Killing This Planet

The birds and the bees need help. Also, the butterflies, moths, wasps, beetles and bats. Without an international effort, a new report warns, increasing numbers of species that promote the growth of hundreds of billions of dollars’ worth of food each year face extinction.

That's a strange way to put it - "billions of dollars' worth of food". The value of that food has little to do with wealth, and everything to do with the organisms (including us) which it supports.

We, humanity, and our way of life are killing this planet. No one is doing anything of importance to stop this trend. The only international effort which could help would be one which does the following:

1. Drastically reduce the human population, and

2. Stop spewing toxic pollutants into the air, water, and soil.

Capisce?
