Sanctuary In Austin ???

I live on the outskirts of Austin, TX, so this is a subject near and dear to my heart:

Senior Minister Meg Barnhouse knows she'll need beds, a dresser, chairs and a mirror to make the classroom at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Austin feel more like a home for a mother and her young daughter who are still deciding whether they will become the latest immigrants seeking sanctuary from deportation by moving into a church.

It would be the second time Barnhouse's congregation had offered sanctuary. She was hesitant in 2015 because of the unknown legal and insurance risks, but this time she agreed immediately.

My personal belief is that anyone who asks a church for sanctuary should be granted it - ANYONE, regardless of any "crime" they may or may not have committed.

Why then does the MSM continually push the idea that deviant priests should be punished and murderers should not enjoy the privacy of the confessional while seemingly approving of giving sanctuary to immigrants?

I think the US has lost its way in regards to what churches are and what they stand for, especially Christian churches; and that is FORGIVENESS.

And it is the GUILTY who need forgiveness, not the innocent.
