Murder As Politics

Apparently The New York Times thinks it's OK to pretend to kill the President ... and even to APPLAUD it:

While it is clear that murder always has played a part in politics, including in the US, I think we should demand LESS violence from our media, not more.

This is a bad precedent, but at least it shows us that NYT is NOT a "newspaper". It's just another entertainment rag, and not a very good one at that.

  1. Something to keep in mind - the assassination of Julius Caesar did not restore the Roman republic. It was merely the prelude to centuries of dictatorial rule and horrors greater than anything envisioned by him. And that's a lesson we need to learn - violence does not restore liberty or democratic rule. The murder of JFK proved that, but we refused to see it.
