However, the Clintons are a perfect counter-example. I cannot think of a more manipulative couple, and they seem to be EXTREMELY successful. So what gives?
I think being nice is its own reward, and forget about the money. Anyone who takes big bucks from kings, oligarchs, and corporations (e.g., the Clintons, Obama ad-Dajjal, etc.) really has no claim to nicety.
