I would be much happier if this equipment was used to stop the flow of immigrants, drugs, and disease across our border. But apparently it won't be used for such purposes.
And by the way, the worst unappreciated threat to the US is the plague epidemic in Madagascar which is predicted to explode sometime in the next six months. You can read about that here:

Would military equipment help keep us safe from that? I doubt it. Only a quarantine would, and you know damn well that US courts will not allow such a thing to happen.
