How I Would Respond To A Government "Shutdown"

I think this is a wonderful opportunity to reassess our spending priorities.

Here is what I would do:

(1) Anything which directly benefits We The People goes to the top of the "keeper" list.

(2) Anything which does NOT directly benefit We The People goes to the bottom.

Here are some examples, from top to bottom:

  • Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid go to the top.
  • Money to support our wounded veterans and their families goes next.
  • $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $
  • Military spending not related to "war on terror" goes near the bottom. If we had a real State Department, we wouldn't need such a big military.
  • Anything related to "Homeland Security", domestic surveillance, and "war on terror" goes next to the bottom. It hasn't done a damn thing to keep us "safe" for almost 17 years.
  • Any money, weapons, or other support going to Israel goes to the very bottom, and should be the first thing eliminated. They can fend for themselves.

Any other ideas you might have will be appreciated.
